Are Your Smart about Online Security?

It can be a scary online world out there.  And I’m not talking about Halloween scary.  I’m talking about scary scams, fraud, the dark web and stolen identities.

In addition to being scary, this topic can be pretty geeky and technical.  As such, we appreciate when we find a good resource that can help our community learn and increase awareness about online security.

At the Senior Tech Club, we feel that there is no topic more important than sharing about online safety.  So we wanted to share a favorite resource.

The AARP Fraud Watch Network does a nice job of reminding us about online safety and help us become better online citizens.  AARP membership is not required in order to use the resources of the network.

On the site you will find article about current fraud trends, tips and more.

Consider getting started by taking their online security quiz.  It’s easy, there are only eight true and false questions.  It’s non technical and you get immediate feedback on your answers.  At the end you will get a final score.

October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM) and the Senior Tech Club is proud to be a NCSAM Champion.

Each week in October, the Senior Tech Club will feature Nuggets and Recipes that will help you protect your personal data and safety.
