Hands Free Driving Bill is Now Law in Minnesota

In Minnesota, as of August 1, it is now  illegal to hold your phone while making calls, changing music or using any feature on your phone.   Currently 20 states have hands-free laws but please know that distracted driving is unsafe everywhere.  Go to the National Conference of State Legislatures for a good summary of various state laws.

I wrote Nugget #44 Hands-Free Phone Use While Driving that includes recommendations based on a list provided by the Minnesota Department of Safety.  It’s a good list for you to consider as you develop your hands-free approach wherever you live.
