Save $$$ Watching YouTube Videos

by | Mar 27, 2019

I can honestly say that I have saved hundreds of dollars by watching YouTube videos.  Not a bad deal!!

A recent example was when my automotive repair shop quoted me $80 to replace the cabin air filter in my Prius.  After searching and watching a YouTube video (< 4 minutes), I ordered the part from Amazon (about $9) and had the replacement in place in about 15 minutes.  My savings was over $70 and a scene that I have duplicated multiple times.

This savings is one reason why I believe that gaining some facility with YouTube is a Senior Essential.  It offers so much including News, Entertainment and of course, Learning.

Even though watching a video on YouTube is FREE, I think it’s also  important to understand how YouTube (owned by Google) makes money.

Then there are other essential skills and knowledge.  Do I really need to log in?  Do I need to install the app on my iPhone or iPad to take advantage of the platform.  How do I search for a video.

These are all questions that we answer in this week’s featured Recipe #440 YouTube Video Basics.
